Reverend James E. Forney, President

September 1991 –


Reverend James E. Forney was born March 13, 1946 in Johnson City, Tennessee. His family later moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he attended school. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Air Force in August 1963, where he served his country for 27 years. He retired from active duty May 1, 1990, as a Chief Master Sergeant. Rev Forney has an Associate degree from Western Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Southern Illinois University. He attended Liberty University and Andersonville Baptist Seminary. He is the Pastor of Corinth Baptist Church, located at 400 Delaware Avenue, Alamogordo, New Mexico. He has served as pastor of this body of’ believers since September 1991. Rev Forney has served as President of the local chapter of the Otero County Branch of the NAACP; he is a former moderator of the New Hope District Association and is currently President of the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist State Convention. He also serves as board president for the United Way of Otero County, and is the current President of the Alamogordo Ministerial Alliance. Pastor Forney serves as treasurer for COPE (Center of Protective Environment); a board member of KVBA Christian Broadcasting station and a member of White Sands Rotary International. He is married to his lovely bride, Sister Neva Forney. They are the proud parents of two children and have been equally blessed with two granddaughters. More than anything Pastor Forney loves proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
